Welcome back to Term 2 and to Whananaki Online School! We all hope you are safe, healthy and happy! School is sooo quiet and we all miss seeing your happy smiley faces!
Term 2 officially starts tomorrow Wednesday 15th of April, but it will look a lot different. Your amazing teachers have developed activities you can complete at home and we will be available to support you by Messenger, text, email, phone and google hangout or zoom (if your connection is suitable).
Our learning is connected to the Values of our school that are displayed on our Charter and school Certificates(see below). Each image with our Values is something connected to our school. Ask your child/ children what each image could be?(there are no wrong answers, only ideas and talk. This does not need to be recorded).
We will post our schoolwide Lockdown Learning work tomorrow. Don’t worry, it may look like a lot but you only have to complete one activity per row. This week is the time to ask questions, but you can start tomorrow. Typically work will be set Monday and to be completed by Friday.
If you do now require a device to use please send me a message. Some families may receive a device from the Ministry of Education in the near future and students who do not have internet access will receive a hard copy of work. If you have a new email address please contact me.
It is amazing to hear of the brilliant family activities you are all doing together: baking, family walks, playing catch, board games, online games(yes this is ok!), lego creations, drawings, movie nights . . and just talking with your kids! This is what is most important. Let’s be safe, calm and settled.
