A kiwi is a native bird to NZ

The kiwi is brown, fluffy and shaggy with two tiny wings.

They have strong legs and they are the size of a domestic chicken. They have a long bill.

Kiwi live in a lot of habitats like living in bushes, forests, mangroves and underground.

Kiwi eat worms, bugs, small crayfish, berries, seeds and insects.

Kiwis breed at night in burrows and logs. The female kiwi lays the egg and the male sits on it to keep it warm
