The Kereru is a NZ endemic bird.

The Kereru has red eyes/beak and it weighs 550 to 850 grams. It grows 51 cms and it has white blue and green feathers.

The kereru lives in 4 places…The bush, nest, forests of NZ and the Norfolk Islands.

The Kereru breeds by the female laying an egg.  The egg hatches and the baby comes out. Then the baby grows up and the whole cycle starts all over again.

The Kereru eats leaves flowers and stone fruit.

I think the Kereru is a funny bird because they are so fat!
